Tree Removal and Trimming

The City of Jerseyville’s sub-contractor is scheduled to begin our annual tree removal and trimming program the week of December 18, weather-permitting. The following streets have adjacent trees/stumps listed in the 2023 program: East Pearl, Jefferson, East Prairie, West Pearl, Ames, West Arch, West Spruce, West Woodlawn, North Liberty, Lott, Walnut, Sarah, Northmoor, Warren, Marion, South Lafayette, West Prairie, Barr, South Prairie, and Roberts; as well as some trees within the City Park, Rotary Park, and Oak Grove Cemetery.

No parking will be allowed on the streets and driveways in the immediate vicinity of each tree/work zone from 7:00AM to 5:00PM, and residents in these areas will experience short-term street closures, traffic/biking/walking delays, and blocked driveways. Access will be provided in the event of emergencies only. All areas will be re-opened to normal traffic at the end of every working day. The contractor will be cutting trees/limbs, chipping/hauling debris, and grinding out stumps. There will be short-term noise and sawdust, and all work areas will be properly cleaned up by the sub-contractor.

Work will take place during December, January, and February. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we complete these important improvements along our City street system, in your neighborhood. For any questions regarding this notice, please call City Hall at (618) 498-3312.
