City Dump Regulations

For Residential Refuse Only. Residents are not allowed on premises when attendant is not on duty.

The dump is not intended for use by contractors, landscapers, and tree trimming service providers.

Dump hours are Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Hours may vary due to holidays.

You must have a sticker to dump. Limit is 7 bags without Special Use Permit. One trip permitted per day

All refuse materials shall be contained within tied bags and/or disposable boxes or totes. No loose dumping allowed. Yard waste and brush can be dumped loose or in biodegradable bags, in the designated area, by residents with a valid dump sticker.

Dump sticker must be affixed to windshield on lower corner of driver’s side in order to use the dump. Grounds for refusal if it is not affixed to the windshield in the designated location. Remove backing and use adhesion on sticker to apply to windshield. Taping, laminating and any other means of securing sticker to windshield will not be allowed.

To obtain a replacement sticker, a portion of the original sticker must be submitted as well as paying a fee of $5.00.

Special Use Permit

Bulk materials over and above the maximum load limit may only be unloaded with the presentation of a Special Use Permit to the attendant on duty. The Permit can be obtained at the Office of the City Clerk at 115 E. Prairie Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. prior to a dump visit.

The Special Use Permit shall be required prior to dumping any mattresses, furniture, lumber and other renovation materials or bulky materials.

Only one (1) Special Use Permit allowed per day. Refuse must be contained to the pickup truck bed or a trailer. Maximum trailer size is 6×12 feet. Pricing schedule for pickup truck beds and trailers are listed below. Other items listed are charged individually, in addition to the base fee for truck or trailer.

All fees must be paid prior to dumping.

The City of Jerseyville attendant on duty has the right to refuse anyone from dumping.

Prohibited materials include: shingles, batteries, tires, paint, or chemical cans (unless empty and dry) are prohibited. No televisions, computers, appliances, or metal burning barrels.

City of Jerseyville is not responsible for items thrown away.
